Common Homeopathic Remedies For Allergic Rhinitis or Hay Fever: Part 2

  • Arundo: Indicated for hay fever that begins with itching in nostrils and roof of the mouth that causes sneezing; burning and itching in ear canals, eczema behind ears.
  • Dulcamara: Indicated for constant sneezing; swollen watery eyes, especially in open air, stuffy nose, thick yellow mucus; diarrhea accompanies hay fever in the summer, nose aches, frequent urination. Feel thirsty and chilly. Symptoms worsen in sudden temperature changes, in autumn, in cold wet places, and before storms. Symptoms improve in warm heat.
  • Euphrasia: Indicated for hay fever concentrated in eyes, with watery, yellow discharge, swollen lids, mucus on cornea, sore eyes with pressure; frequent sneezing with bland (not bitter) nasal discharge; dry hard cough. Symptoms worsen in sunlight and win, in a warm room, during the evening, and while lying down. Symptoms improve in open air, by blinking, and by wiping the eyes.
  • Gelsemium: Indicated for summer hay fever accompanied by sneezing in the morning, violent sneezing, thin watery discharge; dull headache and fever, heavy, drooping eyelids, double vision; stuffy nose with very watery, streaming discharge, red, sore edges of nostrils, swallowing is painful in the ears, hot face but cold feet and hands, chills up and down the spine. Feel thirstless. Symptoms worsen in warm, humid, foggy weather (spring and summer), before thunderstorms, and after hearing bad news. Symptoms improve after profuse urination, sweating, bending forward, or being in the open air.
  • Galphimia glauca: Indicated for excessive mucus secretions from nose and eyes, swelling of the eyelids, sneezing; shooting pains in the stomach. Feel hypersensitive to weather changes. Also recommended for skin allergies (eczema, hives).
