Foods that are delicious as well as great for allergies

Who says foods that are good for you have to taste bad? Here are some suggested foods that can help.

Fruit and vegetable juices - I personally like the three-green one-orange one-red juice combination of green apple, cucumber, bitter melon (a Chinese vegetable), carrot and beets, in 1:1:1:2:1 ratio splitting the cup into 6 parts. Drinking this recipe 4 times a week really helped deal with my hay fever. My mom, who suffers from hay fever as well as hives, replaces the green apples with green peppers and adds 3 more parts of carrots and lime juice.

Yogurt - Because it is rich in pantothenic acid (vitamin B2) and vitamin E, yogurt is an excellent choice of food for allergies.


Reduce histamine in your body
Histamine are responsible for a large number of allergy symptoms. In fact, a lot of allergy medicines that are available over the counter contain antihistamine to keep the symptoms in check. There are a number of herbs that can keep the amount of histamine in your body under control.

Chamomile - This herb increases cortisone produced in our body's adrenal glands. Cortisone is known to make breathing easier by reducing the lung's inflammation, This is especially important for people who suffer from asthma or asthma-like symptoms.

Stinging Nettle - Stinging Nettle is a natural herb that acts as an antihistamine; it can be found in tablet and pill forms in natural food stores.

Quercetin - Quercetin is great for allergies, and can reduce the risk of some types of cancers by acting as an antioxidant.

Butterbur - Butterbur acts as another natural antihistamine that is great at treating allergies. According to wiki, it was used by native Americans whenever they had inflammations and headaches.

Plantain - This herb is taken for allergies involving respiratory systems as it is very effective against inflammation and coughing.

Try to work these herbs into salads and soups in your meals, and see whether your allergies get better.
