- Arsenicum iodatum: Indicated for hay fever-induced asthma; dry, hacking cough with little or difficult expectoration (yellow/green foul-smelling mucus); "air hunger" (difficulty getting deep breath), short of breath, burning heat in the chest. Feel thirsty and chilly. Symptoms worsen in dry, cold weather or when it's windy and foggy, after indoor exertion, eating apples or breathing tobacco smoke. Symptoms improve in the open air.

- Kali nit: Indicated for dry, short, hacking cough in the morning accompanied by chest pain and bloody, sour-smelling sputum, constriction in chest and right lung, severe shortness of breath (can't hold breath long enough to drink), heart palpitations. Feel burning internally but cold externally. Symptoms worse when walking in cold, damp weather, lying with head low, or eating veal. Symptoms improve with gentle motion and drinking sips of water.
- Lachesis: Indicated for dry, fitful coughs, sensation of suffocating while lying down, painful larynx; breathing almost stops when falling asleep; feel like you must take a deep breath. Feel thirsty and cold. Symptoms worsen upon waking, consuming warm drinks, swallowing, going from cold to warm weather. Symptoms improve in open air, upon consuming cold drinks, and when bathing.
